The longevity of your tooth gems is influenced by your mouth's pH balance, how well you maintain oral hygiene, and how gentle you are when eating. Additional factors include smoking habits and the frequency of consuming acidic foods and drinks. Brushing your teeth two times a day will help keep the gem-to-tooth bond strong while preserving the shine of your design.
We use the highest quality dental materials for applying tooth gems, including a specialized etchant, a premium bonding agent, and durable composite material. This ensures both safety and longevity, whether you're looking to enhance your smile with custom grillz or sparkling Swarovski crystals.
Yes, tooth gems can be removed either by Madeline or your dentist or hygienist, depending on your preference. Madeline offers gem removal services for $30 to $50, based on the number of gems being taken out. While most clients prefer long-lasting gems, including custom grillz adorned with Swarovski crystals, removals are infrequent. We are, however, happy to provide this service when needed. If you're having a gem removed to make way for a new one, you won’t be charged for the removal.
Our tooth gem application follows a precise 4-step process to ensure a stunning finish with Swarovski crystals and custom grillz. First, the tooth is prepared with an etchant. Next, we apply the bonding agent, followed by the composite material. Finally, the tooth gems are carefully positioned and cured into place using a UV light, creating a secure bond.
At your initial appointment, we’ll take impressions of both your upper and lower teeth, even if you’re only getting a bottom or top grill. Both arches are essential as study models so that your custom grillz fit your bite perfectly. The impressions are poured into a stone model, and Madeline will craft a wax-up of your design. The wax is then cast in the metal of your choice, followed by finishing and polishing. If you choose to include Swarovski crystals or tooth gems, they’ll be added after polishing. At your next and final appointment, you’ll receive your custom grillz, with any necessary adjustments made to ensure a flawless fit.
Each custom grillz design is carefully crafted by one person, which means the turnaround time can vary depending on the complexity and availability. Most projects are completed within 6 weeks to 6 months. Simpler designs may take as little as 3-4 weeks, while more intricate or custom designs, especially those adorned with Swarovski crystals or featuring tooth gems, could extend the process. We’ll provide a more specific timeline based on your design needs.
We offer a wide variety of precious metals to suit your style and budget, including options perfect for custom grillz. You can choose from 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K yellow gold, platinum, white gold, and rose gold in all the different karat qualities. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, we also provide argentium silver, which resembles white gold and is tarnish-resistant. Additionally, our designs can be enhanced with Swarovski crystals or tooth gems for a unique touch. Please note that we do not offer gold-plated pieces, ensuring that all our creations are made from solid precious metals.
Teeth can shift over time, which may cause your custom grillz to no longer fit properly. I’m happy to offer a no-fee tightening service to adjust the fit. If your teeth have shifted significantly and a simple adjustment isn’t enough, you also have the option to use your original gold grillz jewelry toward a new design that fits your teeth. While you can use your previous gold toward the cost, please note that there will still be charges for labor, service, and any additional metals used, including options for adding Swarovski crystals or tooth gems for a personalized touch.
To maintain your custom grillz, it is essential to clean them after each use with a soft-bristled toothbrush and mild soap or non-abrasive toothpaste. Make sure to rinse thoroughly and dry them before storing, especially if they feature Swarovski crystals or tooth gems, to keep them in top condition.
